NoStep

An offline iPhone app for occupational therapists assessing homes for accessibility. One home visit becomes three documents, generated on the phone.

A rule engine does the checking and builds the documents. RoomPlan scans on LiDAR iPhones, and ARKit measures on the rest. The Next.js web app it was ported from adds a language model for drafting. Any room scan you see here is a generated sample, not a real home.

26.33″ rectified plane

Same door. Different angle.

Pixel estimate
26.33″
Rectified width
32.00″

Measure a doorway photo in pixels and the answer changes with the angle. NoStep’s web app solves the plane first, then measures. On a rendered test wall, a 32 inch door read 26.33 inches by naive scaling and 32.00 once rectified.

Things I’ve built

Tartan

The desktop app that runs my semester: classes, deadlines, LaTeX notes and grades. Plain files in a folder I pick. No account. About 9,000 lines of TypeScript.

Tartan's Today view: classes in a sidebar, what's due today, what to start now, and a schedule showing the next free window.

Promptbox

Type a prompt, get a picture, on your own GPU. It’s a small pywebview app whose Python backend drives ComfyUI over HTTP. MIT licensed.

Soundalike

Local voice cloning from a ten second sample. Electron talks to Python over a stdio pipe, so there’s no server and you never see a terminal. Nothing leaves the machine.

Work

Where I’ve worked

Psychology of Technology Lab

Undergraduate research assistant · Sep 2026 to now

Research on how technologies like social media and AI affect people.

ScottyLabs

Software engineer · May 2026 to now

Front end for the CMU housing site: the launch page, preferences survey and ranked recommendations. React, TypeScript and Tailwind. I’m on the DevOps team this semester.

Twinly

Founding software engineer · Apr 2026 to Sep 2026

I owned the Windows client and drove it to parity with the macOS build, screen by screen, checked with pixel diffs. I found and closed a remote code execution path in the auto-updater with Ed25519 signature checks that fail closed.

I also built Pilot, which turns a vision model’s output into UI actions behind a human approval gate.

CodeForChampions

Co-leader, Java Department · Nov 2024 to Apr 2026

A student-run nonprofit teaching programming at schools without CS courses. 100+ students taught across programming and math, counting my own tutoring.
